Next generation WebSphere DataPower Appliances

IBM has just announced the new 2U form factor DataPower appliances at Impact 2011. With 10 data ports, upgraded hardware and a reported very large 96Gb memory these boxes are going to leave their competitors even further behind. It also means that 64-bit firmware is on the card. New WebSphere Appliance Management Center V4.0

The new WebSphere Appliance Management Center (pronounced as WAM-C) is an enhanced version of the good old ITCAM System Edition (SE) for DataPower. The installation process and user interface have been greatly improved. With the introduction of AMP messaging protocol 2.0 and WAMT, WAMC is definitely worth a test-drive but it comes at a cost.
